Conservation Week Clean Up!

Several junior classes went down to the beach on Friday to check out the shoreline for litter. The children worked in pairs - one was the 'spotter' who pointed to the litter and their partner, wearing a disposable glove', was the 'picker upper'. Most of the litter was paper wrappers but we were sad to find some plastic rings that could get caught around the necks of birds or other animals.
We had to be careful not to step on plants growing in the dunes too!

Well done everyone! You really care about our environment don't you. Remember always put your rubbish in the bin and if you can't find one, take it home with you! Sarah's Mum)
