Trip to Pataka

Room 1 have been having such a busy week!
On Monday we had a wonderful trip to Pataka museum in Porirua.
We all enjoyed learning about life in New Zealand 100 years ago, doing the washing with a mangle, ironing the clothes with old irons and then dressing up in olden day clothing! We compared household technology today with that of 100 years ago.

We visited the Art Gallery too and listened to and acted out an animal legend. We made an animal key ring too!
They need to be baked in the ovenbefore taking them home.
What a wonderful experience!

Wow, what a great day at Pataka! Ben loved it and we think his photo is hilarious as he explained that in the olden days "everyone looked grumpy" hence the frown lol. Wonderful trip, he learnt heaps. Thanks so much!!
