Looking forward to Monarch Butterflies!

On Thursday butterfly enthusiast Stan Swan came to visit Room 1. The junior classes want to attract monarch butterflies into Eastbourne and into our gardens in the junior school courtyard.  Room 1 learned that monarch butterflies lay their eggs on swan plants and their caterpillars only eat swan plant leaves.

Mr Swan brought swan plant seeds and potting mix and helped everyone plant their own seed.

 He will look after our seedlings in his green house until they are big enough to grow outside. We all took seeds to plant at home too! Don't forget to ask mum and dad to help you plant your seeds Room 1!
