2019 Calendars

Room1 have been busy creating wonderful pastel, pen and dye family portraits for the calendars,diaries and cards that you can order for 2019. See them in the classroom window and on the Room 1 blog or at the school office.

Geckos visit!

We were so lucky to have a visit from Brian the lizard expert on Tuesday!
He told us how he breeds lizards for protected islands and animal sanctuaries like Zealandia.
He bought a green New Zealand gecko and a big brown gecko with 4 tails!!The brown gecko is over 50 years old and we were all allowed to stroke it to feel it's velvety scales.

 

Enrichment today Friday

Each Friday in Room1 we have an enrichment hour where the children work together on self chosen activities, cooperating and sharing materials and ideas.
The favourites today were building a city with blocks and setting up a classroom shop, as our strand maths topic is money.  

Trip to Zealandia

We visited Zealandia to identify and learn about the native birds and animals that live there.

Go the Bulldogs

On Saturday morning I went down to the Rec to watch the u6 Bulldogs ripper rugby team play Petone.
What a fabulous game! You were all awesome everyone!
