Practice, practice, practice .....

We are all

enjoying learning and practising new skills for the Athletic Sports! Here we are sprinting as fast as we can.

Balancing on a Tin Can

Room 1 have been

exploring mass, capacity and weight for maths this term.

Will this work?

One of our favourite investigations was how to make a working balance

with a tin can and a piece of coreflute!

PPP

We visited year 7and 8 over the road and they shared their PPP's  - Personal Passion Projects with us.
They all chose a special area of interest to study and present to an audience.
We all loved seeing and listening to the clever investigations they had done!
It was great for Stirling and Zack to see their big brother's work.

Maths: Exploring Even numbers

Today our maths problem to solve was how to check if a number was an even or an odd number.
Here are some ways Room1 made groups with the same number in each from the number we chose to check.

 10 groups of 2 in 20

 2 groups of 12 in 24

  2 groups of 10 in 20

  2 groups of 6 in 12

2 groups of 2 in 4
2 groups of 3 in 6
2 groups of 4 in 8
 2 groups of 5 in 10

   2 groups of 10 in 20

2 groups of 3 in 6

Little Gardens

Here we are planting our seeds with our big helpers from Room15!
We have sunflowers, tansy and sweet peas!

Ready to take home to plant now!

Keeping Ourselves Safe

Constable Julie has been visiting the junior classes to teach us all how to keep ourselves safe in different situations.

We have learned what to do if:
  we get lost,
we are approached by someone we don't know
we feel uncomfortable in any way.

Room1 are all practising their address and a phone number too!
