Year 1&2 Gardens

The junior classes have been very busy planting butterfly attracting flowers in our class gardens! Now we have to remember to water them!
Soon we will plant our swan plants and wait for monarch butterflies to visit and lay their eggs!

Room 16

On Tuesdays we go to the Eastbourne library with Mrs Sullivan and the new children in Room 16.
You are wonderful role models for them Room 1! You are all so good at walking sensibly and you showed Room 16 how to peep down sneaky driveways to look for cars you can not see!

Keeping Safe around Dogs

On Thursday Jane from KIDS - Kids Involved in Dog Safety - taught us all how to behave when we see a dog that we do not know.

If a dog's on it's own leave it alone!

Remember this drill, don't run stand still!

To keep your dog happy and fit, you must take care of it!

Now we will know what to do next time we meet a dog outside the supermarket on the way to the Eastbourne Library!

Tsunami Practice

Today we practised what we would do if an earthquake caused a tsunami and all the children from Muritai School had to move to safety!

Here are Mr Bird's instructions! We kept them a secret!

Today a major earthquake will happen at 12.10 this will be signalled by a continuous bell.

Please ensure the children assume earthquake position for around 90 seconds. This earthquake is SIGNIFICANT …you won't be able to stand up…then the earthquake is over…please evacuate the premises with the expectation that a tsunami will follow as it is a MAJOR EVENT…..

Make you way up Mckenzie Road.

The whole school walked up McKenzie track to safety in 10 minutes!
Well done everyone!
