Sunflower science and art

We have been learning about plant life cycles and have been studying sunflower seed heads to see how the seeds that make new plants develop in the centre of the flower.
We are learning to observe carefully.
Here are some observational drawings of our sunflowers.

Colour changing Cabbages!

We investigated whether vegetables  would change colour as well as flowers.

Our cabbage leaves changed colour too!

We found out that the food colour colour travelled up the stems of flowers and vegetables.

Science: Our colour changing flower

We put a white flower in some water coloured with food colouring.

Room 1 think the food colour travelled up the stem and changed the colour of the flower.
Next we will design a fair test and check the results to see if we are correct.
