Multimedia Artwork: Princess and the Pea

At present we are creating multimedia artwork using a variety of different materials.
Here are our illustrations for the story The Princess and the Pea.
We recycled old coloured waste paper from the photocopy room and cut it into strips to make 10 mattresses for the bed and glued on some dried peas.
We think our recycled collage looks amazing! 

Making Circuits

This week in the STEM room we explored electrical circuits. Our challenge was to connect a battery, wires and a bulb to turn a light on. Then we added sirens and motors! 

Eirinn could connect her circuit to turn a light on!

Zack chose a buzzer for his extra for experts challenge!

Beebots

We are loving learning to programme the Beebots in Room1!

A Visit from Tilly's grandma Sue

Tilly's Grandma Sue shared the story of her Ngāi Tahu lineage with us in Room1 today.

The photos she showed and the story she told added an extra dimension to the children's learning. 

Tilly was so proud and her face shone with pride as Sue spoke!

A science moment!

Last week Room 11 were out flying home made kites and were trying to work out the wind direction.
Quickly room1 got our windmills and went out to show them how to catch the wind direction. Point the windmill until the blades start to spin and you have found it. Well done Room1!

Sharing our work with our Buddies

On Friday we visited our Room 13 buddies. They shared their eportfolios. We shared our Collections Folders of our best work. The classroom was buzzing with descriptive phrases and affirming comments. We enjoy catching up with our Room 13 buddies and are good friends now.

The Titanic

Our Titanic expert Raffy brought an amazing model that his grandfather built for him for news.
It was THE TITANIC.
