Static Electricity

Today we played jumping frogs to demonstrate static electricity!
We made some tiny green paper frog faces and tried to create some static electricity to make them jump onto a balloon.
We blew up balloons and held them close to our frogs.
Nothing happened!
Then we rubbed the balloons against our hair and tried again!
The rubbing made our hair stand up on end!
When we held the balloons next to our frogs this time we could see the frogs jump high in the air and cling on to the balloons. The friction (rubbing) between the balloon and the hair created static electricity which pulled the frogs to the balloon.

Performing Arts

Room1 are loving Performing Arts with Mrs Hooke!
We practise moving to a beat, improvising dance, singing and dancing games!

Dinosaur Cakes!

We have a marble jar in Room1 for "good talking"  - asking thoughtful questions, sharing good ideas and speaking up clearly at news are good examples.
We decide as a class what we would like to do as a treat each time the jar is full! Our jar was full  yesterday  so today we made our treat- dinosaur cakes!
We followed the plan in a reading book.
